Do you use Class Dojo in your classroom? Do you add pictures for the students' families to see? If so then you may want to use a tailored permission slip to protect yourself.
Most schools have parents sign a picture release at the beginning of the year, but I like go one step further when it comes to Dojo just to be on the safe side.
This form has a short description of Dojo and includes a permission slip that asks for permission to share photos on Dojo, but also asks the parents to sign stating that they will not share the photos from Dojo onto any internet of social media sites. I ask all parents to sign this section whether or not they allow their child's photo to be used. If they don't, then I don't allow them access to the online portion of Dojo and instead send their child's behavior report home on a paper copy. This helps me to ensure that the students photos don't end up on sites they shouldn't be.
So, protect yourself with this simple form to use your students photos and also ensure they don't end up in places they shouldn't.
I usually have my parents fill it out at meet the teacher night so I can begin taking pictures that first day!!
