Product Description
This lesson introduces the idea of perpetual war existing only to serve big business. It cites a wide array of sources which explain both the facts of our perpetual war economy and its negative effect on society. It points out the direct correlation between declining living standards and increased military spending. It compares gaps in funding for major social issues with the ever increasing amounts lavished on the Pentagon and certain favored corporations. It challenges students to come up with ideas on how taxpayer money could be put to better use and the ramifications current policies have on democracy. The teacher is free to modify the lesson in any manner that facilitates its use in the classroom. (This product has been very successfully classroom tested)
