Traditional reading questions limit students to write answers that are easy to recall, memorize, and find in the text. Text-dependent Questions (TDQs) encourage students to expand on the evidence they cite from the text (infer, analyze, evaluate).
The nature of the graphic novel urges students to analyze not only text, but images as well. Make the most of this opportunity for critical thinking and vital Common Core skill. This set of questions are for chapters 1-4 and include page numbers to find evidence for answers as well as a KEY for chapter 1.
The student will:
*Analyze text to determine what it says explicitly.
*Make logical inferences from text.
*Cite relevant & specific textual evidence.
*Support conclusions drawn from the text.
