A Matrix board is a great way to work on building auditory memory skills in a closed set task. This matrix uses similar sounding names, a specific clock time, and an activity to cue 3 item memory sentences. For example, "Ben has a tennis lesson at 4:25". The student has to find Ben, Tennis Lesson and put the 4:25 time card on the intersecting square.
A matrix board has flexibility to target many speech and language goals including (but not limited to) sentence formulation, story telling, following directions and grammatical structure work.
This Matrix does require single word reading ability but could be adapted with your own drawn pictures.
