This is a great way to help students review how to use indirect object pronouns, because they love to quiz each other and play the role of teachers! I'm always shocked at how engaged students are during these Persona A/Persona B activities.
Simply print out a sheet for each group of two, cut them in half, and you're all set! Detailed instructions are included, but basically, Persona A will say the first statement, Persona B says it back but with a IOP replacing the indirect object, and Persona A checks whether or not their partner's answer is correct (Persona A can see the answer). If it's wrong, they let their partner know the correct answer. Then, Persona B says their first statement, and they keep going! At the end, they go back to the numbers their partner got wrong.
For the first part, students just practice using IOPs (example: Persona A reads "Ellos dan la tarea a ti" and their partner responds with "Ellos te dan la tarea.") For the second part, students have to replace both the indirect objects and the direct objects with pronouns (example: Persona A reads: "Ella prepara los nachos para nosotros," and their partner responsds with "Ella nos los prepara."
There is one final bonus question on each half where students must use the pronoun "se," but if you have not taught that yet, feel free to delete it. Also, all verbs are in the present tense, but you could easily edit some to be in the preterite or imperfect as well.
This works well with the Realidades 4A chapter for Spanish 2, but it would work with any unit focusing on IOPs and DOPs. This usually takes a few minutes to explain, and about 15 minutes for students to complete. I often put one of the more challenging sentences from this activity on a quiz as an extra credit point, which gives students a little extra motivation to focus on the activity.
I hope this activity is helpful for your students!
