Lots of teachers use clip charts in their classroom. However, students are often embarrassed by their negative choices and having to get up and walk across the room to move a clothespin can be brutal!
This clip chart is a more personal and individualized approach. Simply print (I found cardstock holds up better), laminate, and tape one of the vertical sides to each students desk. Attach a paper clip to the side that is not taped down and you are done!! Students then slide the paper clip up and down based on your directive of positive or negative behavior. No more walk of shame!!! I've used this in my 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade classrooms and it works GREAT! You can still follow all of your existing clip chart procedures. Best of all, its editable if your school follows a common lingo. Use year after year. Enjoy!!
