Personal Finance- Spending Log/Cash Flow Analysis Activity
Great activity for a high school personal finance class. In this activity students track their income and expenses for a two week period and then reflect on the outcome. Each day students record income earned and purchases made.
Directions for activity read as follows: For the next two weeks, keep track of how much you earn (income). It can be from a job, money given to you by someone else, an allowance, money from babysitting, odd jobs, etc. In column “A”, place the amount of income and where it came from on the day you receive it. Also, keep track of all your expenses/every item you spend money on, etc. Make sure you list what it is and the amount. Do your best to squeeze everything in for each day. It is understandable that some days will be left blank. This activity will help you see where your money is going, where you’re overspending/under spending, etc.
*NOTE- Thumbnail shows reflection starting at the bottom of page 1 but it is on a separate page in download. Images are also not on top of text.
