PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a brief worksheet that students can complete in a personal finance or an economics class. Students are given two scenarios. In each scenario, students will have to decide if it is cost efficient to purchase dental insurance (optional insurance) through their company. Students will have to calculate how much per year will be spent on dental insurance versus the cost of the services they are receiving. This lesson only focuses on teeth cleaning - not braces, root canals, etc. The idea behind this lesson was my own personal experience. After 13 years of teaching, I have only recently decided to purchase dental insurance. It has always been cheaper for me to pay for cleanings out of pocket (even with just one child). However, now that my two year old is going to the dentist for checkups, it is now more cost efficient to pay for the dental insurance.
