I use this personal grammar wall for my students to keep in their desks. About once a week, we cut apart a mixed up sentence and sort it on their grammar walls. We mix the words around in different ways in the sentence and talk about the parts of speech. Then they use the words to create a sentence of their own.
This gives the students a hands on manipulative to work with to learn parts of speech and how sentence parts can be moved around. This is great for keeping students engaged while learning grammar. This has made a big difference in my ESL classroom. Now, students are asking to do grammar.
Included in this package are the labels to allow students to make personal grammar walls (on file folders or construction paper) as well as several mixed up sentences for students to cut and sort on their wall.
