Description

Use this assignment to guide your students through the process of writing a personal narrative. While this product is not a detailed lesson on the genre, it does guide the students to follow the steps necessary to write an effective, compelling story. They will have the opportunity to do pre-writing to develop their ideas and to complete tasks that will help them focus on the elements of narration. The mentor texts will give them further guidance and inspiration, and a slideshow will focus their revision process before they do a final copy. (Everything is editable, should you need to tweak).

In this file you will find:

  • A process-based approach to writing a personal narrative
  • A slideshow that will guide your instruction
  • Detailed handouts for students
  • Mentor texts to use as exemplars
  • An assessment checklist and rubric
  • Everything is editable
