Do your students need to write a personal narrative, or a true story about an important event in their lives-perhaps an autobiographical incident? Whether you'd like to differentiate the essay writing within your class or you want to start gradually with 3 paragraphs and move up from there, this file will have just what you need! There are 3 EVENT- focused planners here! This is for a more FORMAL essay, not so much for a story. If you're looking for a "story" planner, see my store for "Writing Fictional Stories or Personal Narratives."
-3, 4, and 5 paragraph essay planners
Teachers/students will record a prompt. Students will use the prompt to create a thesis statement. Then, they will begin filling out all of the necessary and required essay and paragraph parts: intro/body/conclusion; topic sentences/events/sequence and transition words.
Designed for multiple uses, multi-use.
Flexible use options:
-everyone writes the same essay: 3, 4, or 5 paragraphs OR
-start with 3, move to 4, then to 5 paragraphs gradually throughout the year OR
-differentiate within the classroom (each student writes a different number of paragraphs depending on needs)
-use as part of a reading/writing lesson
-use to supplement ANY reading/writing program/anthology
-use as part of a project/HW packet
-use to revisit or build upon skills throughout the year
-use for an independent writing project
Writing one essay is NEVER enough!
