This 5-week unit will help you teach your students how to write personal narratives (small moments stories)!

In this unit, your students will learn how to craft true stories with a beginning, middle, and end. They will learn to stay on topic and use detailed pictures to match their writing. Students will learn how to describe their reaction to the events in the story. They will also learn how to space between words, use ending punctuation, capitalize the first letter in a sentence, spell sight words correctly, and use letter sound knowledge to spell new words.

Here’s what the unit includes:

- 23 clear, detailed minilessons (that tell you what to say and do)

- Tips for structuring the writer's workshop

- Printable writing paper

- Common Core alignment

- Rubrics and checklists

- Printable posters and alphabet chart

- One graphic organizer

Common Core alignment is included, but many classrooms that do not follow the Common Core Standards still use this unit.
