A fun way to get to know your students and a quick way to gauge their passion for reading. A good introductory activity when you have a new class to get to know.
Model your love of reading. Create your own reading autobiography and share it with your students.
Think back to all books you loved as a child up to this point in your life.
You may have to ask your family what you really liked as a pre-schooler.
Next fill in the details in your own Personal Reading Autobiography. Write in your age, the book's title and author, and describe a memory that you associate with that book i.e. your parents reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Roald Dahl) over the summer holidays.
Be prepared to share your reading autobiography with the class.
