The concept behind the Personal Reference Rings:

I used to spend big money every year at the teaching supply store on desktop helpers and reference folders. However, after a while I realized that these pricey “tools” weren’t all that effective for many of my students. There are very few one-size-fits-all solutions for students. I needed something that was more flexible, allowing me to target each student’s individual needs and provide each student with the tools he or she needed - regardless of whether or not those tools happened to be on the store-bought version. My students always had a wide range of needs - some were advanced learners, some were ELLs, some were on IEPs, some struggled with math topics, some needed spelling inventories, while others still needed basic decoding intervention. I created these personal reference rings as a way to put everything each student needed right at their fingertips.
