Description

Back to school is all about rules and procedures! Teach your students personal space using these quality social skills lesson plans and activities that will enhance their learning, increase their classroom engagement, and boost their emotional well being. These social skills lessons are the perfect way to develop long term behavior management in your classroom.

This back to school resource includes the following printables and activities for teaching personal space:

  • a detailed comprehensive lesson plan -this lesson plan guides students through the step by step instructions for the warm up, presentation, practice and assessment/share portion of the lesson.
  • a graphic organizer- this graphic organizer provides students with a way to gather and discuss their prior knowledge of the subject together.
  • a read aloud -this read aloud is the presentation portion of the lesson, and is in the form of a class social story. It is the perfect way to provide students with examples of positive, appropriate social behaviors.
  • anchor charts- These anchor charts mirror the important points covered in the read aloud and break them down into kid friendly language. Both full color and ink saving versions are included.
  • easy readers- These easy reader mini books are the practice portion of the lesson. The social skill being focused on is further broken down in a way for students to read, review, and remember. These mini books are printable in black and white so that the children can color them.
  • activity page- The activity page is the assessment/share portion of the lesson. Now students have the opportunity to reveal what they have learned about the important social skills being taught.
