Personal Writer's Dictionary with explanations/examples of homonyms
Your students will enjoy writing tenfold when they each have a Personal Writers's Dictionary which contains 498 of the most commonly words used in writing. The most frequently used words for writing from both the Dolch and Fry list are included.
Students can use their dictionary as a reference source and can add personal spelling words as well. This Writer's Dictionary is an interactive method for learning new spelling and vocabulary words. The most exciting part of this little book is the increased independence and confidence your students will gain as writers.
The Personal Writer's Dictionary is an optimal place to write spelling words from prior weeks as well as Common Core vocabulary. For example, my students use the Writer's Dictionary to record new vocabulary words from Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies as we encounter them.
** AN EXTRA FEATURE that you and your students will really enjoy is the convenient explanation/examples which are given for homonyms, because what good is it if they spell "their" correctly but have used incorrectly.
