Send your students off with a keepsake bookmark to encourage summer reading while building their self-esteem at the same time! These are more than just bookmarks. They let each child know how unique and special they are, and the best part is, the students are in on it! This product will compliment any acceptance education already in place or can be used as a stand-alone. The product allows you to create personal keepsake bookmarks for each of your students using kind words from their peers. While this can be used at any time, I use this product at the end of the year. It gives me a final opportunity to encourage students to recognize positive qualities in others, and to see that they are valued by their peers.
***These are teacher created bookmarks using student input.
Here's how it works: After some discussion, direction, and brainstorming, students are given a class list and asked to write an adjective for each classmate. The lists are collected. Then, using PowerPoint and the bookmark template provided, you will create the personalized bookmarks by typing up the student comments in list form for each child. You can then change the word color and font to your liking. When finished simply print, laminate, and cut.
This product includes:
a class list page that students will use to write adjectives for each peer (There are 3 versions to pick from).
bookmark templates and an accompanying sample
six synonym posters for these common adjectives: smart, good, fun, special, nice, and pretty.
a list of adjectives that can be used to assist with brainstorming.
*** You must have PowerPoint installed on your computer to access and edit the file.
