This lesson is super easy to implement and effectively teaches students how to use personification in their writing.
Students learn how to write using personification in this nature gum tree (eucalyptus tree) themed creative writing lesson.
*** Note - This was one of my very first products which I made and sold on TPT. I now offer it permanently for free. ***
This teaching resource has just four pages which are shown in the thumbnail pictures provided.
Page 1) A personification poster with the meaning written simply for students to understand and an example which relates to the lesson topic of gum trees.
Page 2) A lesson plan written simply for students to read and follow. You can put this on the overhead or interactive whiteboard and read it with students. You could also print it out for students if you want.
Page 3) A writing sheet where students write a sentence using personification about the provided gum tree picture. At the bottom of the sheet is a list of helpful words to support students with spelling difficulties and also to provide word choice ideas.
Page 4) My thank you and credits page.
This resource may appear short but has everything you need to teach personification.
I have found that lessons which explicitly teach a concept, provides an example, has some type of support for students who might have difficulty and also provides a creative element to provide extension work really well. Also I especially love lessons that include an easy lesson plan which both my students and I can follow.
Have fun teaching personification!
