This lesson is for students who have a basic background knowledge of one or two point perspective. I used this as a refresher on perspective for my Drawing 1 class. Hate teaching perspective to high school students? Try this lesson! Students create a looser, more abstract perspective painting of a building from their dream destination. My students ranged from grades 10-12, but this lesson could definitely be modified for younger high school or middle school students. Given the freedom to choose their own subject, students seemed to really enjoy this project from start to finish. The final products came out great and this is definitely a lesson I will be repeating next year.
Included in this lesson:
- PDF Presentation about the project. Steps, intro topic discussion and finished examples of student artwork included. (*If you purchase this and want me to share it through google docs, let me know and I would be happy to do that.)
-Sketch planning worksheet for students to gain ideas and plan their process.
-Student friendly assessment rubric for the teacher to grade projects.
