Use a favorite children's picture book to teach perspective, conflict, and textual evidence. The students can use the given charts to record the conflict that each crayon color experiences in the book. The students should also record textual evidence to prove their point. Enlarge the chart to poster size to enable students to work with teams or partners. They can then view other charts to have discussions about what they agree with and what they disagree with. Older students still love picture books, and it is a great way to introduce a concept.
