Here is a fun oil pastel lesson about perspective for elementary age students that connects a famous artist with the Common Core.
The lesson introduces students to the artwork of American painter Jamie Wyeth. Wyeth has multiple paintings featuring pumpkins. This lesson introduces students to foreground, middle ground and background along with the way to draw a pumpkin and to add color with oil pastels.
The lesson pdf includes links to the original Wyeth paintings located on the internet. Project these images for students to see Wyeth's work.
