This project will help your students see the events of September 11, 2001 from several important viewpoints, including that of a:
• victim’s spouse or family member
• first responder
• witness or observer
as well as their own observations and reactions.
Students will do live interviews, or research online or in periodicals for accounts featuring individuals from at least three of the above categories. They’ll summarize their findings on the sheets provided in this packet (supplied in both full color and black-and-white).
The sheets may then be hung on a bulletin board (board design elements included in this packet) for class review. An excellent way to “put a face on history,” this activity turns a historical event from cold fact to personal reality.
