In this lesson students will work in small groups analyzing two different accounts, one from the Lakota Chief Red Horse and one from General Alfred Terry, on the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Students are asked to compare/contrast as well as identify the values and limitations of the sources. Students will then work individually to write a newspaper editorial on the battle choosing to write from either the perspective of the U.S. government or the Sioux.
