This until will excite students and help them with their persuasive papers/essays/unit.
I use this in college, but it could be used for ANY grade level.
It's a unique game I came up with that teaches students to argue effectively. It also focuses on the following learning objectives: 1) Working effectively as a team 2) the four parts of a persuasive argument/paper 3) working with persuading the appropriate audience--differing views 4) having fun while learning 5) Winning or losing an argument and discussing why 6) Appealing to one's audience 7) Tone 8) Presentation skills.
The sample shows a few slides, but the entire presentation has a template where you can fill in the prize for the students if they "persuade you." This can be any prize from extra time outside or even extra credit.
The game also has a rules slide.
The game takes fifty minutes to play in its entirety, but could be completed in a longer amount of time.
