Once students have read through Sir Conan Doyle's great story, "The Hound of the Baskervilles," they are tasked with the job to "persuade" their fellow peer group into reading/watching the story. This is a great project unit that works well after teaching basic persuasive techniques, such as Ethos/Pathos/Logos. As a bonus, I bring in a panel of judges from outside of our class (teachers, past students, etc) to evaluate the projects, as well as vote for the Most Persuasive, Most Creative, and Most memorable.
In this purchase, you will receive my handout, describing the assignment to the students, as well as my grading rubric and voting sheet that the panel of judges receive.
This project can be used for ANY text or unit, especially after covering persuasive elements and techniques.
