This set includes a chart which explains ten different persuasive devices.
It also includes a set of example introductions for students to analyse and identify the devices.
They could be cut up and used as a matching activity or as discussion points. Some introductions contain more than one device.
We also ranked the introductions according to which we thought was most persuasive and why which lead to some interesting ideas and a great formative assessment of students' understanding of using persuasive devices.
This is aimed at 5/6 students and introductions are based on the topic that the principal is considering changing the drinking taps from water to fizzy drinks. Students had already written a persuasive based on this topic and were then able to think about improvements from the models.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
