This packet is an excellent resource for students who need to write a Persuasive essay. The topic of focus was "Do Teenagers Abuse their Cell Phone Privileges?". There is a general outline provided at the beginning of the packet so the student has a general idea of what to include in the 4 paragraph essay. Then there are individual outlines provided for each paragraph (i.e. introduction, body paragraph #1 & #2, Conclusion). This packet also provides students with sentence starters for each of the paragraphs. The last page is a listing of transition words and phrases that can be used throughout the essay in each of the paragraphs when appropriate. The articles we had the students read for this assignment came from "Word Feast Adolescent". Students need to know how to write persuasive and argumentative essays for standardized tests. This outline will guide their writing to ensure they include all of the necessary components for each paragraph. Common Core Standards are included within the packet.
*Note: Persuasive Essay and Argumentative Essays are different. Persuasive Essays do not include a Counterclaim paragraph.*
