One of the hardest writing unit to teach is the persuasive essay. Starting in third grade, students are required to produce a persuasive essay on most standardized tests. This resource will walk you and your students step-by-stepthrough the persuasive essay writing process.
This simple, easy to follow format will ask your students to build an argument to support their claim about a self-selected topic they're passionate about.

◼️Brainstorm a Topic-students create a web of topics that they are interested in.
◼️Make a Claim-students choose a topic and make a claim. They will decide on their audience and 3 reasons to support.
