Persuasive Letter template for a unit on multicultural poetry covering the key concept of communication and the global context of personal and cultural expression.
Students are to write a letter to Penguin Publishers to convince them that their poem should be included in their next multicultural poetry anthology (book). The letter can be about a poem the student has written or a poem they have found.
The template is designed for children with autism, dyslexia, slow processing speeds, and other learning difficulties. It is outlines clearly to show the different sections of the letter and provides lead in sentences and examples. At the end of the template there is a vocabulary box which provides synonyms and persuasive writing adjectives.
After students complete the template, they should then transfer their letter onto a clean sheet of paper where they can then combine the sections to be one complete letter.
Can be edited to fit into other poetry/creative writing units.
