I created this rubric to grade my fourth graders' persuasive letters. It is based on the Six Traits of Writing. I grouped word choice/voice on this rubric and didn't include sentence fluency because teachers often focus on evidence and organization when teaching persuasive writing.
In the rubric you will find:
- kid-friendly language
- three levels of achievement, with two more in-between levels
- space to give separate grades
- feedback space - both positive and constructive
- a place for self-reflection
