Challenge your students to persuade readers with a choice between two alternatives and defend their choice. Included are ten prompts for persuasive writing where a student needs to take a stand and defend that choice with detail and explanation sentences. Each paragraph prompt has activities to complete in four days. Writing includes brainstorming, rough draft, revising and the completion of a final draft. A rubric is included which students use as they write. Teachers can use the rubric for scoring/grading. An example is included for all four steps. Such topics as "Should letter grades be given or should a report card eliminate such grades?" and "Should students wear uniforms or not?" are given.
