-a step-by-step assignment/instruction sheet (with checkboxes for each task) that you can give to students,
-a rubric (with categories for Structure, Process, Description, Spelling and Grammar),
-three suggested mini-lessons (Personal Essay Defined, Quoting within the Essay, Words Instead of Said) with explanations,
-a detailed brainstorming sheet,
-and two mentor texts with questions.
The document is purposefully in Word so that you can tweak the instructions and/or rubric to fit your students' needs. Perfect for use in a writing workshop or as a single writing assignment.
