After studying and analyzing persuasive articles, students will get the opportunity to create a project of their own. Students will read a persuasive/debate article of their choice. Then, they will analyze the article and evaluate the author's argument. They will look for evidence, persuasive techniques, and reasoning. They will then create a written response on their own personal feelings on the topic of the article. Lastly, they will create a print advertisement or commercial persuading others to believe their point of view. They will use details and evidence from the article, as well as including other research and implementing persuasive techniques.
This is meant to be the culminating project of a unit on persuasive articles.
