This is a mini unit/activity for writing persuasive paragraphs that I use in my class.
-2 Different Graphic Organizer Sheets for a Persuasive Paragraph (a total of 8 different writing topics)
-Sentence Starter Reference Sheet (ideas from Scholastic)
-2 Different Speech Bubble Sheets (for a final draft)
-Photos of Final Project Idea
My students' writing was immediately elevated by using the sentence starter sheet (which they glued into their writing notebook for future reference). Students used the sentence starters along with the graphic organizer to write a persuasive paragraph trying to convince others to see their point of view. Once this rough draft was edited, students wrote their final draft on the speech bubble paper. Then they used construction paper to create their face...and glued both to black construction paper. Looks great on a bulletin board or hanging in the hallway! Very motivating for students!
