When it comes to writing, many students are given a prompt and told to begin writing. No time is given to preparing to write, resulting in substandard written responses.
I have developed a prewriting step-by-step process, designed to enable students to write far more detailed, well thought out responses to assigned prompts.
3. Questioning (serves as a plan)
With these steps, students can form a clear vision about the topic or prompt that is given. This process can be taught, and learned, using the creative visualizations found in Day Dream Believin’. With this approach, writing pieces will be more detailed and complete.
This book includes Persuasive prompts that are designed to draw the students in and guide them in producing top quality writing pieces. It teaches students three important skills: how to relax their bodies and minds, how to visualize, or see, their story in detail and how to question their responses prior to actually writing. Once students learn this process, they can do it on their own. It will not only help them with their writing, but it will also help them envision tasks they want to accomplish throughout their lives.
