Persuasive Burger and QSSSS
These quick and easy-to-reference posters guide students through the structure of a persuasive text. Includes a whole-text structure Persuasive Burger and a QSSSS acronym to structure and convincingly build each paragraph with persuasive techniques.
The QSSSS acronym is a completely original one, mimicking the sound of a whip. It is related to a YouTube clip where Homer was convinced to buy the snow plow using this sound by the salesperson (link included in the resource). "To prove your reasons, use QSSSS":
- Q = Questions (rhetorical)
- S = Strong words (persuasive language, modal verbs)
- S = Stories (anecdotes)
- S = Statistics (%)
- S = Similes (it would be like a tropical paradise)
