Part of working in a kitchen is keeping it a clean and safe place to prepare food in. That means keeping out pests that can contaminate work spaces and stored items. This package is a lesson on how to set up procedures for managing pests. Included in this package is:

This is a two page activity. Students are given a worksheet and a cut out sheet. The worksheet has blank squares for the cut outs to be arranged in. The last row of the cutouts sheet is blank for students to create there own pictures to represent each procedure in the pest maintenance process.
This word search is to help students to familiarize them selves with the vocabulary of pest maintenance procedures.
Layout Mapping Activity
This activity is to help students to become aware of their own work/kitchen environment at school and identify potential entry points or areas of interests to pests like water, spills, holes etc. There is a section at the bottom of the page with symbols students can use and a space where they can add their own.
