Printables, activities and ideas to help you transform your dramatic play area into a Pet Shop!
This packet includes:
* Welcome to our Pet Shop signs (2)
* Assorted pet vocabulary word/picture cards
*A pet shop brochure to fill out (to help the customers learn how to take care of their new pet)
*Pet ID tags for students to fill out when they name their pets
*A pet observation page
*A file with sample photos of how I set-up a pet shop in my kindergarten class
*A literacy center activity wherein students fill out a "Paws for a good book" report. Students choose a book, fill out the title, author, and the best part of the book. An additional page is provided for other students to review the book quickly by filling in their name, the book title and circling a happy, neutral or sad face to indicate if they liked the book. This mini-review is on a bone-shaped page. (These make for a cute bulletin board display)
* A pet project that makes an amazing bulletin board that people won't be able to walk by without smiling! (Especially your students!)
This project consists of students choosing a pet body template to paint, and then completing a sentence starter, "This pet needs....."
The file includes the pet bodies, the sentence starter strips, a title/name label for the pet's cage. Teachers and/or students complete the project by attaching a photo of the students' face on the painted body and then putting the pet into a paper cage.
Photos and instructions are included.
