This is a small group Reader's Theater for 4 people. In the script, Peter doesn't like to wear pants and so he's called Peter Pants. Captain Looks is self-centered and only cares about, you guessed it, his or her looks. My ESL students found this reader's theater very funny and enjoyed it. I hope your students do too.
This is one of my literacy centers and how I teach fluency. It could work for as low as 3rd grade but would need some more vocabulary words. I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need. My scripts are in black and white with the occasional picture on the front so they are easier and cheaper to photo copy. The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice in and less off task behaviors take place.
My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone. If you enjoy this script, look for other twisted fairy tales at my site. You can even save money by buying them in packs! I hope that your students enjoy this script as much as mine did. Let me know how things go!
