Ready for a fun hands on lesson on phases of matter? This lesson will have your students fully engaged and identifying all the phases of matter while they make a root beer float. The powerpoint presentation takes you through how to make the float with your students with step by step photographs. The powerpoint presentation includes discussion questions asking students to identify if the ingredient is a solid, liquid or gas. There are two worksheets included. Both worksheets would be used after making the floats. The first worksheet asks students to identify the ingredient as solid, liquid, gas. The second worksheet is a coloring page (there is one easier version for students who can't draw and a harder version for students who can). This worksheet asks students to draw their root beer float and then color the solid, liquid, gas various colors according to the key. This lesson is super for special education students and a fun and easy hands on lesson that my students absolutely loved.
Make sure to check for food allergies prior to doing this lesson and also keep in mind students who may be lactose intolerant.
