This activity provides students with practice identifying the phases of the Moon. Students will enjoy showing what they know about the phases of the Moon by matching a picture of the Moon phase and its name. They can then record their answers on a recording sheet for teachers to check for understanding or even collect for a grade.
This activity is aligned to the following state standard:
S4E2. Students will model the position and motion of the earth in the solar system and will explain the role of relative position and motion in determining sequence of the phases of the moon.
