Phases of the Moon Song - Anchor Chart and Chant Audio - King Virtue's Classroom
This Phases of the Moon anchor chant is a fun way to review the eight phases of the moon (waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, last quarter, waning crescent, and new moon). After the students learn the chant, you can sing it without the music. This is a great way to transition in the classroom and get students moving!
Research has shown that students learn best when teachers cater towards their unique learning styles. Over the years, I have found this to be true. I have always loved using anchor charts to help students “anchor” their learning, but I felt something was missing. Students were struggling to remember the important “buzz words” and what they mean. That’s when I began creating what I call “anchor chants.” I use these in conjunction with my anchor charts and basic instruction. These short chants or songs immerse the students in their learning and help them stay engaged. The biggest benefit I have found is that my anchor chants help me reach my visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners.
