More Info:
There are 2 parts of this resource:
* The 1st section has writing prompts to help you clarify your approach to teaching.
* The 2nd section includes quotations from famous educators and philosophers about teaching. They can give you ideas to ponder as you write your own teaching statement.
In the 1st section, there are 20 sentence starter prompts on 2 pages that guide you in writing your philosophy of teaching statement. The 1st page has 10 general prompts to describe your approach to working with students, parents and others and to clarify your thoughts on issues such as standards, assessment, classroom management and professional development. The 2nd page has 10 more prompts to help you describe how you would handle various situations that are commonly experienced in a school setting.
These prompts come in 3 styles and each style comes in 2 versions (the prompts are the same in all styles):
* Borders on all 4 sides of the page,
* Borders on 3 sides of the page, and
* Borders on 2 sides of the page.
Each of these styles is available with and without a center dividing line so you can choose to have your completed statement appear in a table format or just as finished sentences. The border options are provided so you can easily insert your completed philosophy of teaching statement in a notebook binder, should you wish to do that. Just choose the version and style that works best for you!
The 2nd section of this resource includes a set of 10 8.5" x 11" posters with inspirational quotations by famous philosophers and educators about the teaching and learning process. You can use these posters to help you formulate your teaching philosophy and after you've finished, you can display them on a bulletin board to inspire your students.
Also provided in this resource are a cover page for your finished philosophy of teaching statement and a blank page with the same border design as the first section pages. You can use this blank page to write your statement in paragraph form if you prefer to write it that way.
Post your philosophy of teaching statement in your classroom or add it to your professional portfolio to show evaluators or potential employers. When you finish writing your philosophy of teaching statement, you will have a document that is sure to impress!
