Thank you so much for viewing this quick little intervention set. It was designed to engage the students in a brief session of phoneme blending. Directions for use are included.
*picture cards from pack that are laminated and cut out
How to use:
Say: I’m going to separate all the sounds in a word and I want you to say the whole word. For example, if I say /s/i/t/ the whole word is ___________. (The child should say sit.) Each time the child gets the word correct, give them the card to hold as a reward.
This could even be done as a game in a small group.
Continue doing this intensely with the remaining picture cards for about 5 minutes or so.
Use again daily if possible until the student has a firm understanding of phoneme blending.
There are 60 cards in all!
This is a skill needed for the Phonological Awareness Skill Test (P.A.S.T) – Skill #12
