Thank you so much for viewing this quick little intervention set. It was designed to engage the students in a brief session phoneme deletion of final sounds. Directions for use are included.
*picture cards from pack that are laminated and cut out
How to use:
Say: We are going to play a matching game, where we match a word with a similar word that has left off the final sound of the word. For example: meat without the /t/ is me.
Give the children 15 sets of matching cards and have them match a big card with its small card. Tip: divide the partner cards into two baggies, each containing 15 partner sets.
Continue doing this intensely until the child you are working with has matched all partner sets in their baggie.
Use again daily if possible until the student has a firm understanding of phoneme deletion of final sounds.
There are 30 sets of cards in all!
This is a skill needed for the Phonological Awareness Skill Test (P.A.S.T) – Skill #15
