Product Description
Do you students need to work on phonemic awareness skills? Would you like it to be digital to cut back on prep time? These phoneme segmentation digital cards are hands-on. Students slide the object to segment the word from the picture. Then they slide the snake out of the way to reveal the word under it.

This resource is the version for PowerPoint use. Find the Google version by clicking here.

Did I also mention this resource can be used on tablets and even iPads? Say what? Yup, you can use this on a tablet, computer, or you can even project them with a SMARTboard or other type of interactive whiteboard! (SMARTboard use is an option, you don't need it to use this resource if you plan on simply using it on a computer or tablet.) *Tech specs below.

Not only that, but this resource stands out from some apps and games on tablets because students can save their work for you to view later. That means accessibility to view their work for assessment purposes and more!

Please view the preview for more details about this resource.

Includes the Following:
•100 Phoneme Segmentation Cards Covering CVC Words
•Broken into three sets of 33-34 slides each (You can resave them under a different name and break them up smaller if you like too!)

What I LOVE about Using Digital Resources for Teaching:
•Paperless (Hello, cleaner desk!)
•It can still be hands-on! They can still slide letters around!
•When used with a learning management system, I can have access to their work online and not have to lug a bunch of papers home.
•They can't glue the expensive magnetic letters to a paper card, but they can save those digital magnetic letters on that card for easier assessing!
•Kids love using technology. It's engaging!
•All the letters are ALREADY organized! No messing with a bunch of letters in smeared, labeled baggies. This makes it so much easier for differentiating your phonics instruction without having to do a thing, except assign the appropriate file to each student! Easy, simple, bam! Now, that is what I am talking about!

***There are some technical requirements to use this resource. You will need PowerPoint on any devices that will be used with this resource. For guided instruction with either an interactive whiteboard or in a small group, you can easily just use PowerPoint. For optimization, you might want to consider using a learning management system that is online, so you can easily assign students a file and easily receive those files back from students. This is not required to be able to use this resource, but it makes it easier to use the resource if you are wanting to assess their digital work. Many of you will have schools that already have these. Microsoft OneDrive or another cloud storage system are also possibilities. There are work arounds if you don't have any of these though. For one, you could use the resource as a hybrid where students use the recording sheets to record their words and/or sentences, and you skip over assessing their digital work. You could also have them save them on the device and manually check each device. I have suggestions for this method in the resource.***

***For Interactive Whiteboard/ Smartboard use: To use any dragging/dropping features, your interactive whiteboard will need the feature that performs mouse functions with touch in programs outside of their software. Basically, the touch feature takes the place of how you would use a mouse in other applications such as PowerPoint, surfing the internet, etc. If using. This feature that allows the computer to use touch on the screen to function like a mouse may sometimes only work in the software of whatever brand interactive whiteboard you are using, so make sure you can use that feature in other applications before purchase if you plan to use this resource on an interactive whiteboard.***
