Thank you so much for viewing this quick little intervention set. It was designed to engage the students in a brief session phoneme substitution. Directions for use are included.

How to use:
Say: I’m going to have you take off the first sound of a word and replace it with another sound. For example: Replace the first sound in pail with /m/. The new word is mail.
Then the teacher picks a card and gives the direction on the card for what phoneme to substitute. It the student gets it right, give them the card to hold.
Continue doing this intensely until the child you are working with has shown understanding of the skill.
Use again daily if possible until the student has a firm understanding of phoneme deletion of final sounds.
