Phonemic Awareness Activities | STEM Activities BUNDLE

They are phonics task activities that incorporate STEM and provide students an opportunity to create and apply phonemic awareness skills through higher level thinking, exploring and constructing.

How to use Sound Kits:
Simply print the task cards, bind them on a ring or store them in a small container and provide any materials or manipulatives for your students to create with! Students complete the task on the card by using the provided materials/manipulatives. 

Skills Included:
-Capital Letter (students identify the letter and build)
-Lowercase Letter (students identify the letter and build)
-Sound Identification (students build the letter that they hear at the beginning of the provided picture)
-Initial Sound (students build the picture that has the same beginning sound as the provided letter)
-Identify Rhyming Words (students identify and build the picture that rhymes with the provided word)
-Decoding (students decode the word and build the picture that matches the word)
-Segmenting (students say the name of the picture, segment the sounds and build/spell the word)
-Blending Phonemes (students blend the provided phonemes together to build the word)
-Sound Isolation (students isolate the middle sound and build that letter)
-Onset and Rime (students identify the rime and build the missing letters)
-Missing Phonemes (students identify the missing phonemes and build the letters)
-Syllable Segmentation (students identify which picture has the matching amount of syllables and builds that picture)
-Produce Rhyming Words (students build a picture that rhymes with the provided picture)
