Phonemic Awareness Activity Game

Description
Masters of Manipulation is a Phonemic Awareness Reading Activity that focuses on phoneme substitutions.
Phoneme Substitution is one of the highest levels/skills a student will gain under the umbrella of phonemic awareness. Phoneme substitutions ask students to manipulate sounds. A student is asked to substitute beginning, middle, & ending sounds of a word & omit beginning, middle, and ending sounds of a word. This assesses a student’s ability to make the phonemic transference to beginning reading acquisition.
Use Masters of Manipulation is a Phonemic Awareness Activity as a whole group phoneme substitution activity, with your guided reading groups for a quick review, as a reading centers, or have partners practice!
For a quick assessment, teachers can laminate these and using dry erase markers, students can write the new word directly onto the cards.
Includes 20 cards, substituting beginning, middle, and end phonemes in words.
