Our school uses the kindergarten version of Michael Heggerty to teach phonemic awareness. However, I could not find a progress monitor tool to go along with the program. I wanted to see areas of strength and areas needing more. I wanted to see if the daily practice was making a difference. I created a tool to help me make data based decisions for whole group and small group instruction. This product was made to be used as a progress monitor tool to help drive your instruction. It will assess your students in the following phonemic awareness areas: words in a sentence, syllables, rhyme identification, rhyme production, beginning sound isolation, ending sound isolation, blending, segmenting, beginning sound addition, beginning sound deletion, and finally substitution.
